Uwharrie National Forest
Though small, at only 50,189 acres, the Uwharrie provides a variety of natural resources, including clean rivers and streams, diverse vegetation for scenery, wildlife habitat and wood products. There is also a wide variety of recreational activities, and the Forest is a natural setting for tourism and economic development.

Town Creek Indian Mound
This is one of the most popular State Historic Sites in North Carolina. What makes it so interesting is that Town Creek, situated on Little River (a tributary of the Great Pee Dee in central North Carolina), has been the focus of a consistent program of archaeological research under one director for more than half a century. a must see on anyone's list!

Carowinds Amusement Park
